As soon as I sort through my pics from this weekend I will post them on Facebook, but until then, quick entry about the event + some outfit shots!

Pic with Mariko Suzuki-san (editor of the Gothic & Lolita Bible) and Mari Nakamura-san (the head desiger of Juliette and Justine) They were both so amazing, beautiful and stylish!!

Mari Nakamura; Mariko Suzuki

The true highlight of the event however was after many emotional thank-yous to everyone, when it was our turn to thank Kyra for organizing this massive event, Dom fell on one knee and proposed to her in front of everyone!!! No, really, this happened. We were all trying not to cry and ruin our make-up. And the next day Nakamura-san announced she will be designing Kyra's wedding dress and will be even going to her wedding. How awesome is that? How are we ever gonna top all this at the next Tea Party Club anniversary...? Is this real life even???

Anyway, here's my outfit from the first day of the event, with Phoebe who had the most amazing headdress on:

I was busy in the weeks before the event and didn't manage to make most things I was planning to. Mark made the cage skirt for me on Friday evening and I finished painting it around midnight. I had all sorts of plans about adding ribbons and stuff to it, but no time :(( (Close-up pic of print & cage skirt by Kandee Monsoon)

Same with the headdress, I put it together in about 15 mins. I wanted something more elaborate, but I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Floral headdress

And same with the socks, I wanted to embellish them more, but this was done after midnight and I only had enough energy to sew on a few flowers and crystals.

Flower socks and AatP sandals

I bought this reliquary from Holy Candy on Etsy, it's meant to be displayed on the wall or on a shelf, but I just added some long ribbon to it and wore it as a necklace.

Reliquary necklace

The event consisted of a Q and A with Nakamura-san, Suzuki-san, BJD creator Koitsukihime and make-up artist Akira Tanaka; an amazing fashion show with the latest collection as well as opera singers; there was a room with stalls with products from JetJ as well as many indie brand; a raffle; and tea and cake. We also had to fill in a questionaire and then give it to Nakamura-san and Suzuki-san, while they took everyone's pic so as to select people for the GLB snaps and they also presented each of us with an autographed postcard. There was also a scavenger hunt, but I missed that cause we went out to get something to eat instead.

Juliette et Justine had brought many new tights designs with them but I took ages before visiting their stall, so when I got there all there was only one style left (I reaaaally wanted the cross design ;_;). But they had also brought those specially made cat print hoodies, so I got one of these, the tights and the new issue of the Bible, which came with a large poster. I got the tights on Saturday, so I was able to wear them at the Tea Party on Sunday.

Sunday was way more relaxed. The tea party started around 2 pm so we had some extra sleep time in the morning. Everyone was given a JetJ catalogue together with a voucher for a 2000 yen discount. We all sat down to have sandwiches, pastries, scones and tea (I got a lovely vegan option, yay!!) and then there was another raffle. I won this Juliette et Justine bow. It is so gorgeous, I still can't believe I won something so beautiful:

They also announced the results of the various competitions and gave prizes etc (for more info on the contests see http://teapartyclub.blog.com/). We spent most of the time chatting and then taking pictures and then head off to the afterparty for cocktails. Outfit shot with Mel:

Aaand another pic with Suzuki-san (I just love her look soooo much!!):

All in all it was an amazing weekend, I am so grateful to Kyra and everyone else who helped and put so much work to make this happen. It was so great to see everyone and hang out with so many awesome people and admire everyone's outfits. Speaking of people and outfits, I need to finish sorting my pics (most of which are blurry again) so that I can post everything up on FB!

Thank you so much again for welcoming me on saturday morning and night! I don't know if I would have been able to live through the week-end without your (both Mark and yours) help and kindness! <3

I hope J&J will put the tights on sale on the website because I really wish I had gotten 2 pairs of cross tights! I really like the cream ones as well.

Looking forward to see your photos. I've been too lazy to edit mine, but I'll probably do it tomorrow or on wednesday. I did not take that many photos anyway and my camera kind of sucks... ^^;

Aw Julie, it was a pleasure having you over, I really enjoyed your company! And thank you so much for the Swimmer present, it is so cute!

Yes, I don't think I can make do without those tights, I have to get them for sure! I have a few nice pics of you where your outfits show nicely, will post everything soon!
Sep. 10th, 2012 10:01 pm (UTC)
Wow that all sounds incredible, i'm so sad i couldn't go (but honestly they'd probably ban me from the plane for being too pregnant haha.
You looked amazing, i really like cage skirts and i think you did a fantastic job on the headdress!
Kyra's weekend sounds like a dream alright, the sort of thing that doesn't happen to mortals as you said, unlike real life. She does deserve it though. Sure your comm is big but pulling a party like that off seems like something amazing and hellish.
Kiss kiss

It would have been even more awesome if you could have been here too (but yes, it's better to be safe than sorry with flying + pregnancy!)
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked them. I felt so underdressed compared to everyone else though lol.

Yup, Kyra deserves all the happiness in the world, we were all so happy for her, there was serious crying and trying to hold back the tears during the proposal!! XD
Sep. 10th, 2012 10:44 pm (UTC)
your outfit was amazing! What you did with the skirt was great!! The shoes, accessories <3 perfect!
The tights!!! *-* I am in love!!
Btw, could you tell me if they are going to sell the jesus jsk?? <3
You girls are so lucky! I am happy for you! \o/
Sep. 11th, 2012 10:54 am (UTC)
Ah thank you so much! Everything was soooo unfinished though, I felt so underdressed and sloppy compared to everyone else there!

Do you mean the the simple black jsk with the face of Jesus on the bodice? I thought it was already up for reserve on the Kera shop. Or do you mean if they will list it on the JetJ website?

Yup, we are so lucky to have amazing people like Kyra putting stuff like that together, I don't even know how she managed to organize all this!!
Sep. 11th, 2012 02:08 pm (UTC)
You were not poorly dressed! STOP!!!
I mean, the last supper (I think this was the name...)Kera had only the skirt version for sale, had no idea jetj would make the jsk...but seems some pieces were only made for the fashion show ._.
Sep. 11th, 2012 04:21 pm (UTC)
Ah I see! I don't think so, there wasn't any jsk at the fashion show and in the latest Bible there is only the skirt with a matching detachable collar :(
Sep. 11th, 2012 06:05 am (UTC)
Oh my gosh, it sounds like such a dreamy event! Suzuki-san and Nakamura-san look so sweet.

I love your outfits by the way, and what you did with the socks was so inspirational I almost cried out when I saw it!

You girls are such inspirational and busy lolitas, I hope that once I will be able to attend one of your meets <3
Sep. 11th, 2012 11:28 am (UTC)
Aw thank you so much, Mania! My socks were so unfinished, I wanted to do some proper embellished ones that had beads and crystals and more flowers, but it was already nearing 1 am when I started them and I was so tired ;_;

I am so inspired by all the classic lolitas, both you guys in Greece (esp. you and Meg) and the girls here, it makes me really wanna try and be classic too but I keep failing and looking goth instead ha ha (I'm gonna enlist a friend here to give me a classic makeover!)

I really hope you can attend next time there is a big event (JetJ said they want to come back for an event in London, yay!),it would be so awesome <3 <3
Sep. 11th, 2012 01:37 pm (UTC)
Thank you Aliki, you are always too kind. I love the styles you can pull off, plus it is not too gothic, it is a mix between classic and goth that is very unique.

OT but could you tell me what sort of patterns were icluded in your GLB? I am thinking of buying it but I'd like to know about the patterns first
Sep. 11th, 2012 04:16 pm (UTC)
Sure thing! The patterns are:
- Cinema doll Echarpe (an AP-style sash basically, that is worn over the shoulder and tied to the waist like a pageant sash)
- Cinema Doll cat bag (small cat head shaped bag)
- High collar long-sleeved blouse
- Big head bow

I can take pics of the finished products in the bible so you can see if that's not clear! But if you just want the patterns I can send you mine, I never use that sheet, it's still attached in most of my bibles....
Sep. 11th, 2012 06:18 pm (UTC)
Thank you for such an elaborate description.
I will probably buy the GLB, since I really like those. But thanks for the offer!
Sep. 11th, 2012 07:04 am (UTC)
This was such an amazing event and I have to agree it almost felt like a dream, especially when Dom proposed and then Mari Nakamura offered to make Kyra's wedding dress. Its like a fairytale <3

I loved your outfits! You always look so incredibly beautiful ^^

I hope they sell the tights too, I regret not buying the design you bought and it would be nice for everyone to have the chance to get them too.

Sep. 11th, 2012 12:49 pm (UTC)
It did, didn't it! I am so happy for Kyra, she really deserves this!

Thank you so much, I loved your outfits too! I have some lovely pics of you too, will post them on FB soon! :D

Yup, I regret not buying ALL the tights!!
Sep. 11th, 2012 08:49 am (UTC)
The only thing I can say is: ALL THE AWESOME!
I just hope someone will be willing to write an event report for BCM, that'd be awesome as none of the Belgian Lolitas could be there and we're all dying to hear about it!
Sep. 11th, 2012 01:46 pm (UTC)
Yup, it was pretty amazing! :D
What about Lunie, I thought she was from your comm (or at least near enough)? She was there both days of the event (looking fabulous)!
Sep. 11th, 2012 01:54 pm (UTC)
Oh I didn't know she went?!
Would you be interested in writing an event report? Lunie is always so busy so I don't think she has time for it.
Sep. 11th, 2012 04:27 pm (UTC)
Yup, she was there on both Saturday and Sunday!
Ack, I would be rubbish at it, cause I think I missed a lot of stuff since I was also trying to hang out with friends... I don't even remember all the Q and A answers accurately and my pics are all blurry / bad quality! I think the best solution would be if you made a post to the facebook event here and ask if someone is up to it:
There were plenty of people who also assisted with organizing it and plenty who took good quality shots that may be able to write a really good detailed report!
Sep. 30th, 2012 09:58 am (UTC)
That would be a great idea, were it not that I don't do facebook.
Every attempt to remote use has ended in drama so I just try to avoid it at all cost (the more people that realise you have an account, the more drama in my personal experience :'( )
Oct. 4th, 2012 07:11 am (UTC)
Really?? Drama on Facebook? Woah that's weird! For me facebook is just the place where I keep up with the daily life of friends and post pictures of my cat and food...

If you still want someone to write about the event, I can ask the organizers, models and the people who attended. Lots of them got good pics and came on both days so I'm sure someone would be up to doing a report about it?
Oct. 4th, 2012 07:22 am (UTC)
You're lucky! I wish I could use FB like that! Yay for cats!

That'd be awesome, thank you so much, you're a star! My email is hildekitten at gmail dot com and this is the link to the current BCM (so they can see it's a genuiene online magazine haha):

Sep. 11th, 2012 12:18 pm (UTC)
That sounds like the most amazing event ever!
You look gorgeous! Love the selfmace hairpiece and cage skirt!
Sep. 11th, 2012 01:48 pm (UTC)
Thank you so much, Hoa! I wish you could have come too, it would have been awesome to see you ( but on a positive note, JetJ said they'd visit us again, so maybe next time?)
Sep. 13th, 2012 12:06 pm (UTC)
Oh that would be nice if there were more brand teaparties in London in the future! I hope there won´t be an important event in Germany at the same time again XD
It would be nice to meet you in person!
Sep. 11th, 2012 05:04 pm (UTC)
Wow Mark made the cage skirt! That is amazing!! I love the reliquary too. You looked awesome! I'm glad I did see you a bit on Saturday, even though didn't get to chat for long!

I wish I could have gone to the tea on Sunday, but I should be happy enough that I went on Saturday! ^_^ And yeah I don't know how we could top this anniversary!! XD
Sep. 11th, 2012 06:31 pm (UTC)
Ha ha yup, I was planning to make it myself but I gave one look to the instructions and then cried XD
Thank you so much for the kind words!
It was nice seeing you even for a bit, I loved your Choc Rosette salopette coord & how you matched with Iain!
Sep. 11th, 2012 05:09 pm (UTC)
I am so jealous of the bow you won ;) You looked absolutely amazing, I remember seeing the reliquary and thought it was incredibly cool. I also loved the cage, such a great idea, especially with a painting print!
Sep. 11th, 2012 06:33 pm (UTC)
Aw thank you, you are very kind! <3
I still can't believe I won something so nice, I never win at raffles and stuff, so much so that when they called my number it took me quite a while to realize and get up! XD
Sep. 12th, 2012 01:30 pm (UTC)
I'm so glad you went to the party in the end! <3 You look absolutely stunning! And the Headbow is sooo beautiful, I can't wait to see it on you! *_*
Sep. 12th, 2012 10:24 pm (UTC)
Thank you so much! <3
Yup, I am so happy I went in the end, I would have regretted it so much if I missed it (especially Dom's surprise proposal to Kyra!)

I really loved your outfit and the huge necklace - perfect! And the shoes and tights and everything are so balanced and lovely! Next year I will be there or I think I might die of jealousy (if there is a next year).
Sep. 19th, 2012 09:11 pm (UTC)
Aw thanks <3 looking back my cage skirt outfit was cringeworthy, I hate it ha ha. I feel so embarrassed that I went like that. Oh well too late now!
Yay, I hope you can come next year if there is another event, it would be so awesome!! :D
Sep. 22nd, 2012 04:55 am (UTC)
Really? I think you're way too critical of yourself, girl. I find painting prints a little boring so the cage gives it "purpose".
