Haven't been much outside lately, as I've been having a tough time with my thesis. I decided to cancel my trip to Paris for the Baby Tea Party + Expo, I'm way too busy to be having weekends away at the moment. I feel pretty sad about it but at the same time I also feel better cause it feels like the right thing to do. Oh well, next year I will be done with my PhD so I'll be ready for all the Tea Parties!
I did have one evening out last week - I went to the end of year exhibition of the school of architecture at the Metropolitan Uni, where my brother teaches. It's only a walk down the road from where I live, so me & Mark decided to pop in to have a look and also catch up with my brother.
I finally got around to wearing an old Gunne Sax dress I picked up from Etsy ages ago:
[As you can see from the face pic, I'm just discovering photo editing apps for iPhone, thanks to this lifesaving entry:

I re-made this cross a while ago to suit my outfits more; it was a plain wooden cross, so I just wrapped it in some yarn and added various things I had lying around:
Some pics from the exhibition:
I really wouldn't mind at all living in a flat like this....
This wasn't really an exhibit, but there was this sink there at a staircase and they had filled it with a dark red jelly just to make it look neat. It wasn't edible though, my brother said not to try it cause it had chemicals in it or something >_>
I don't understand much about design or architecture so I was just roaming around looking at stuff like a total ignoramus. One class had taken an educational trip to Reykjavík, Iceland and all their works were around that, so at least that was something familiar. I spent most of my time looking at their designs cause at least I recognized all the locations and stuff, so that was a nice surprise!
On our way back we saw this really friendly cat that looked like a fluffy garbage-ball:
And that's it for this update, as I don't have anything new or much else to say!

I really like your style.
That jelly filled sink is creepy it reminds me of blood and Erzebeth Bathory... (>_<)
I'm really gutted about it, but I really had no choice...
Ha ha yeah, that sink did look at blood at first, it was eerie!
Nice outfit~ Your rocking horse shoes looks lovely~
Aww, that cat is so so adorable, kittyyy~ *o* I would be definitely like ♥w♥ if I had seen him/her :3 Cats are always so lovely animals, and cat is my favorite animals from all animals and quite rightly so is because cats are so awesome *3*

Ha ha yeah that cat was so fluffy (and scruffy)!
Man, when that PhD is over, I'm gonna be SO. HAPPY.
Cool exhibition :D I like the book.
Cute outfit, layers <3
Yeah, on the one hand I'm feeling really sad about cancelling but on the other, I kinda feel relieved for the extra time to work...
I'm submitting my PhD a couple of weeks after the JetJ event but hopefully all the major writing and corrections will be done by then. It would kill me to miss that T_T
And yay, I hope next year you can come to Paris too, that would be awesome!
So sorry that you had to cancel your trip, but I can completely sympathise!! If that makes you feel any better, I actually brought my laptop and wrote every day when I was there, even stayed up/got up really early just to do some writing. :S I had to send some stuff my supervisors, so I was freaking out a bit as well, but then I couldn't really cancel as Iain was going. But I did feel bad that we didn't get to do much when were in Paris and he had to share my stress a bit while I was there. At least I sent my stuff on time, so now slightly less stressed! Phew. Gah!! We have to go celebrate the end of it when we are both done!!!
I didn't know your brother teaches there?
Oh wow good to hear you managed to do some work there! I thought about doing the same, but I thought I'd be too stressed to be productive :(
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's pics from Paris :D
