Hyper Japan outfit pics + stuff

Belated but oh well!
I posted all my people pics on Facebook right after Hyper Japan, but I thought I should post some pics here since I use this journal mostly for outfits and stuff....

I only went to HJ on Saturday this time. I decided to wear a comfy layered Cult Party-style coord rather than lolita, and it was supposed to be a pretty chill morning, but it ended up being a bit of a disaster. While getting ready, I managed to stub my toe on a chair and rip my nail off, which just wouldn't stop bleeding. As my outfit was all-white, I had to wait for the bleeding to stop before putting anything on. Then I proceeded to burn one of my hair pompoms with the hair dryer. And by the time we got there, my contact lenses had irritated my eyes so much, that they were hurting like hell and everything was blurry. The consensus seemed to be that going blind is not a good thing, so I ended up taking them off and chucking them away....

Outfit Rundown:
Dress: h.Naoto FRILL
Peignoir: vintage
Cross pendant: tutuHa
Bag: Issey Miyake (this was a gift from my brother, I adore this bag so much <3)
Shoes: VW x Melissa
Hair Pompoms: Topshop (with some added lace by me)
Stockings: Ann Summers lol

Small personal disasters aside, I had a pretty good time. I really enjoyed seeing everyone again. The fashion show was amazing, Baby, the Stars shine Bright had a stall and there were quite a few cute shops in general. Me & Cordelia got interviewed for Marie Clare, and we were still cringing about all the stuff we said the following day! I hope they don't end up publishing my part. The MC photographer was really cute and friendly though, I really liked her.

Kinda happy/sad part: I traded my Little Bear's Café skirt! I really really loved that print, it is still one of my favourites, but I just wasn't wearing it. So I traded it for a pink x black Melty Chocolate skirt. I wasn't a huge fan of Melty Choc to begin with, but it's grown on me and it will be easier to coord and wear more often than LBC. Here it is with the Milky Pony bag I got recently, they go so well together!

And a heart-shaped chocolate box ring that I got at Hyper Japan from Patisserie Pink to match it:

That's it for this update, as I need to go and do some chores now xxx

That chocolate box ring is so cute! And your Duffy has a neck tie too, that's so cool :) Mine has a brown one :)

I really like your outfit from that day :)

Thank you Hilde!
Yeah, Duffy looked a bit too plain so I thought I should accessorize him a bit! Aw I can imagine your Duffy with a brown bow, it must match a lot of your steampunk coords :)

It does! :)
I thought he was a bit too plain too, but it's good really, because him being plain gives us the opportunity to dress him up the way we like :)

That's true! :)

OH GOD, I'm feeling second hand pain from the toe-stubbing. I'm a dipshit and manage to stub mine on a bi-weekly basis usually. Take solace in knowing that you look like a hot mofo though, you've really rocked CPK.

Yeah, I am the same, I am so clumsy & accident-prone :((

Thank you so much! <3
When is the Bath fashion museum meet? I don't think I've heard anything about it (so many meets with Frills & Frolics now, I am losing count!!)

Ah is that what that style is called? I had never heard of Cult Party before this Hyper Japan (there was someone wearing that in the fashion show on Sunday), but then again I'm never that knowledgeable about these different styles and names!

I only just noticed your bag! I saw quite a few, I think probably replicas, when I was in Hong Kong! XD

I didn't realise you had so much trouble before you got there! :/ Poor you!!

The style has been around for a while, but i think a lot of people just class it subconsciously with mori or dolly-kei. I prefer to think of it as distinct though, cause I am neither into mori (too ethereal and serious for me) nor dolly (don't like the deep, dark colours on me). I think cult party is the first style I have been really excited over since lolita, I just love the combo of comfy layers and bedclothes + crosses + cute stuff like anime accessories and stuff ha ha ^__^

The other girl who was wearing it on Sunday is Aimi btw, that's her blog:

Thanks for the explanation! I think I have an idea about the style though I probably have to see more examples. I do like elements of mori and dolly, though can't say I know it that well and they don't completely excite me that much. In some ways I wish I have the time and energy to get more into the different fashion styles, but think I'm just too lazy and low maintenance of a person, I just put together whatever I have. XD

Thanks for the link to Aimi's blog! I think we were at the same at the Kanon tea party but I didn't know anyone at that table at all. :S
