I didn't finish posting the pics from my trip to Disney World in my last post, so here are some from the Epcot park!
I didn't visit any of the other parks cause I was trying to be good & study as well as rest, but on a day that Mark didn't have many sessions to attend, we spent the morning together going on rides and looking out for Disney characters.
Some of the 'rides' are really lame, and not really rides at all! We went on this Canada ride thingy where you basically sit in a room surrounded by screens that show stuff about Canada. The panoramic scenery was nice, but yeah, not a ride in my book...
This is Spaceship Earth, a geodesic sphere with a ride that's basically a journey through time, from prehistory and into the future world (it was certainly better than the Canada ride >_>):
Once again, it was easy to find some yummy vegan food. These were the most filling noodles I have ever had!
The highlight of my day was seeing Duffy Bear (yes, I waited in the queue with all the children orz):
...and there is a Duffy shop too
Cinderella and Mary Poppins were so cute
Epcot is also home to the World Showcase, where different countries are represented in different parts of the park.
Mark had a good laugh at the Disney Yorkshire pub and I loved those Royal Wedding teddies at the English shop:
There was a nice exhibition in the Japan Pavillion called "Spirited Beasts" which was about mythical creatures and their representations in anime and manga:
The shop at the Japanese part of the World Showcase was really awesome; it was full of cute stationary, Imai Kira postcards, cosmetics, tons of Hello Kitty stuff obviously, manga figures as well as more traditional accessories and kimonos.
I wanted to get this Hello Kitty mini bath-dress but then I decided to leave it since I thought that I should stop shopping for myself all the time. Mark bought it for me in the end without telling me and gave it to me after we left
On the last evening of the conference there was a "Blogger Open" Crazy Golf tournament, and Mark had signed me up for it. I normally *hate* sports and refuse to participate in any, so this is a very rare occurrence, but I do have the pics to prove it (thanks to a kind gentleman who took the first pic with his mobile and Mark who took the second while I was struggling with the ball...)
Needless to say I dragged my team all the way down and got the worst score... but it was awesome fun anyway! It was on a Fantasia-themed mini-golf course and everyone was getting drunk and having a great time
Dinner was some really tasty and fresh vegan sushi:
On Friday we made our way to the airport, and on our way there we stopped at a mall to shop & eat. It was my first time at an American mall!
There was a Sanrio store there, but I was a bit disappointed cause it was more like a Hello Kitty store, they didn't have any Jewel Pet stuff :(
I know it's just a salad, but I was so ecstatic to find fresh veggies for lunch! My favourite part about the mall was the food court, where there were all kinds of food shops all around, but a huge common sitting area, so each of us could pick what they wanted from different shops and then sit all together.
Food at the airport was a different story. This is a whole onion, carved, dipped in batter and deep-fried. Supposedly it contains around 3,000 kcals. No, I didn't actually eat it, thank God this was not vegan (egg in the batter).
I did pick up some Oreos though, as the American version is actually vegan, unlike the UK ones which have milk in them
That's it for this entry, I think it turned out way longer than I intended...
Hope to see everyone at Hyper Japan this weekend xx

That Hello Kitty top is so cute!! ^_^ Nice husband!
I do miss eating in America sometimes, I guess I particularly miss the cheaper/abundance of fresh fruit/veg and Asian food in California, but probably not good for me to eat the American portions on a regularly basis! XD
How long did you live in the States for? The food was really good, I think I'd gain even more weight with the way the portions are if I stayed for longer though!
That golf ball was actually lavender so I thought it matched with Vampire Requiem, but the colour didn't come out in the pic ha ha
Because I really do love going on rides :)
I don't know if you're into princesses but they've got the princess pavillion now, which is pretty nice :)
I must visit DLP at some point!
I wrote about the princess pavillion in an old issue of Belgian Cupcakes Magazine, but the review is online too on my lj:

I figured I'd share in case you'd like to see it and/or participate :)

I'm mostly the eldest these days anyway :)
(go on, I dare you, guess how old I am, I won't get upset I promise, I find it amusing ^__^ [actually my fellow Belgian Cupcakes use "guess Hilde's age" as a party trick on new members haha])
Nah, I don't let age stop me either to be honest, especially when it comes to soft toys and fashion, but it does make me hesitate from posting too much on public sites...
I know I sometimes complain "I'm too old for this shit" but it's only when people are being stupid and I don't want anything to do with what they are getting up to haha :)
Yeah, I complain like that too, but to be honest I used to say "I am too old" when I was 21 too... I don't think I am ready to quit lolita or anything, as long as it makes me happy I plan on wearing it (and if that's well into my old age, so be it!)
And I'll dye my hair purple, because in my mind all cool grannies have purple hair haha :)
Purple hair is awesome for grannies. It's the right time to go insane with colours since you don't have to bleach dark roots and stuff :)
I do all of those things now too, I claim it's practise for later haha :)
But let's be honest, the music WAS better in the nineties. Well at least I think so. It seems like nowadays hardly anyone dares to be innovative outside of Japan X_x
I grew up on stuff from the 80ties and 90ties, and when I hear the utter crap they spew now on music tv or the radio it makes me want to scream in frustration a lot.
